A hearing scheduled Wednesday on Illinois House Bill 4244, which would amend the Immunization Data Registry Act, was postponed, as the House Human Services Committee did not have the needed quorum.

The proposed amendment would require doctors and pharmacists to submit patients' information into a state vaccine database by replacing the word "may" with the word "shall".

That is a piece of state legislation.

At the federal level, when the US House voted on House Rule 550, the Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act, Congresswoman Mary Miller voted "no". Miller cited concerns that states including Illinois would move to expand vaccine databases that she said violate the civil rights of her constitutents. Miller also said that Congressman Rodney Davis votes "yes" on the federal bill.

Miller and Davis are both seeking the Republican nomination for Congress in the 15th District.
