Altamont school board members Monday voted to ratify an amendment to their contract with the Altamont Education Support Professionals Association. The amendment increases starting pay for secretaries to $16/hour, paraprofessionals to $16/hour, custodians to $15.50/hour, and bus drivers to $27.50/hour. The action is designed to offer more regionally competitive rates across the salary schedule.

The Altamont board signed an engagement letter with Kriha Boucek law firm for legal counsel, and approved overnight travel requests for a FFA Ground Zero Conference and for a softball tournament trip.

In personnel matters, the Board accepted the resignation of Jim Corrona as fresh-soph boys basketball coach and approved Logan Hill to fill out the season in that post. The Board also hired Jeremy Ruffner as a substitute bus driver, hired August Koester to teach Chemistry next school year, and hired Susan Harris and Bethany Thies as paraprofessionals.

Board member Kerry Wolff was absent from the meeting.
