A Louisville man faces a Class X Felony charge in Shelby County.

Shelby County State's Attorney Nichole Kroncke said two felony charges were filed Friday against 48-year-old Steven L. Ricketts. Ricketts is charged with Armed Violence, the Class X Felony count, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 2 Felony.

Ricketts is charged with possession of a knife with a blade at least three inches long while possessing five to 15 grams of methamphetamine.

Ricketts will next be in court on January 31 for a preliminary hearing.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
