The search continues for a former Teutopolis resident who was involved in a plane crash in Panama this week.

Sue L. Borries, who is currently living in Panama, was a passenger on the plane.

The airplane crashed off the Pacific Coast of Panama on Monday. The plane had four passengers and a pilot aboard. Two passengers and the pilot were rescued on Monday. In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the Borries family shared that "searching continues, but Sue L. Borries and another passenger have not been found up to this point."

In the statement, the family stated that "they would like to thank the Panamanian government, US Embassy, and the US Coast Guard for their efforts, as well as express our appreciation for all the thoughts and prayers from the Teutopolis community."

Sue Borries was a longtime teacher at Teutopolis Grade School. She and her husband moved to Panama earlier this year.
