Brownstown resident Robert Branham has been sentenced to six years in prison on each of five counts of criminal sexual assault.

The 41-year-old Branham was convicted in Fayette County Circuit Court in November of sexual acts against a victim under the age of 18 in 2020. Criminal sexual assault is a Class 1 felony, punishable by up to four to 15 years in prison. In imposing sentence, Judge Marc Kelly said that state law requires that the sentences be served consecutively, not together, and that Branham will have to serve 85% of each sentence before being eligible for parole.

Branham was arrested in August of 2020.
