Three people were taken for treatment following a crash in Marion County Monday evening.

The crash happened at 6pm on US Route 50, just east of Bannister Road. Illinois State Police say a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Shannon Lewis of Flora crossed the centerline of the highway and struck a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Jesse Wooden of Alma head-on.

Lewis was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Two passengers in Wooden's vehicle were also taken for treatment; a two-year-old boy from Alma was taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital, while 55-year-old Tammy Wallace of Kinmundy was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Jesse Wooden refused medical attention.

State police cited Lewis for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to wear a seat belt.
