State Senator Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) is commending the efforts of his district staff to close more than 1,100 constituent cases in 2021.

“There is no doubt this year has been challenging for Illinoisans across our state,” said Bailey. “I want to thank the people of the 55th Senate District for trusting my staff with their claims and allowing us to help them navigate through the often burdensome state systems. My office is here to serve you and I encourage any constituent who is having issues with state agencies to please reach out.”

Of the more than 1,000 constituent cases, nearly half of them were related to issues surrounding the Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card and Concealed Carry Licenses (CCL). At least 160 cases stemmed from questions and reliability issues pertaining to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Sen. Bailey says other claims handled were general issues with state agencies including: the Department of Children and Family Services, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

“The number of cases my staff members were able to close doesn’t begin to reflect the number of phone calls related to each case, continued work on each individual case, referrals for federal issues and follow-ups to these cases. This was truly a team effort and I am proud to serve the people of the 55th Senate District.”

Sen. Bailey’s district staff also spent more than 30 days across the 55th District as a part of the Senator’s traveling office hours, which brings a more boots on the ground approach to handling constituent services.
