Number of New COVID Cases in Effingham County Rises

The Effingham County Health Department announced 114 new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease from Monday through Thursday of this past week. When added to the 46 new cases reported from Friday through Monday, that brings the seven-day total of new cases for the county to 160.

Of the 160 cases, almost 70 of them involved people under age 40.

No deaths due to COVID were reported in Effingham County in the past week.

Coles County Health Department, however, reported four additional COVID-related deaths in the past week.
