Clay Board Approves Sheriff's Department Contract

Clay County board members Tuesday ratified a three-year contract with members of the Clay County Sheriff's Department.

The contract includes raises of $1.25 an hour the first year, another $1.50 an hour the second year, and another $1.75 an hour the third year.

The Board renewed an agreement with the State's Attorney's Appellate Prosecutor Service for assistance in court cases and appeals at a fee of $4,500, which is $1,000 less than last year. Also approved was the allocation of Motor Fuel Tax funds for a portion of the County Engineer's salary as well as the allocation of funds for engineering services. 

Clay board members also reappointed Chris Bible to the Clay County Housing Authority Board, and also reappointed Chief Guye Durre to the Clay County 911 Board.
