Altamont school board members Monday appointed Terri Beal to fill a vacancy on the Board.

Beal has worked in the banking community in Altamont for a number of years. She will succeed Alan Shumaker, who resigned from the Board earlier this year.

The Altamont board passed the tax levy for the coming fiscal year.

In personnel moves, the Altamont board accepted resignations of Kyle Stuemke as volunteer baseball coach, Mindie McManaway as head volleyball coach, Jeremy Mulvaney as a custodian, and Kaitlyn Uptmor as a paraprofessional at the grade school. Board members employed Morgan Hall as Scholastic Bowl coach, and Laney Tedrick and Madison Splechter as student evening custodial workers.

Altamont board members also adopted the Teacher Retirement System supplemental savings plan; approved a workers compensation bid to secure Employers as the district's Workers Comp carrier beginning January 1, 2022; and voted to acquire Chromebooks with Bump Armor cases as recommended by the District's Tech Team.
