Buckeye Kentucky

In the aftermath of the tornadoes that struck Friday, students (seeds, as they're called) at Buckeye Friends School have helped organize a call to action for needed supplies in Mayfield, Kentucky, where some of the most devastating storm damage occurred.

Donations of items are being accepted at Buckeye Friends School through 5:30 pm Tuesday. The school is located at 10110 Illinois Route 33, on the north side of the road in the former Artcraft Press building. We've also embedded a map below.

Ten students, along with other teachers, will be delivering the supplies to Mayfield, Kentucky on Wednesday. It's three hours to Mayfield from Effingham, and the group hopes to be on the road by 7 am. For that reason, they will be unable to accept any last-minute donations before they leave Wednesday morning and encourage everyone to drop off items before 5:30 pm on Tuesday. Cash donations are also accepted.

Items needed are as follows:

  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Baby Supplies
  • Water
  • Large Trash Bags
  • Canned Food
  • Boxed Food
  • Baby Food
  • Towels
  • Pillows
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Bathroom Supplies
  • Clothing
