Adam Niemerg 2020

State Representative Adam Niemerg has announced that he is a candidate for re-election to the state legislature in 2022.

Niemerg, who is a Teutopolis High School graduate and lives in the Bishop Creek community, currently serves in Springfield as representative for the 109th House District. Under the legislative remapping, though, Niemerg's home will now be part of the 102nd House District. The 102nd will stretch north to Champaign County and south into Lawrence County, basically a district along the Illinois-Indiana border. The district will not include the Village of Teutopolis. Dieterich and Montrose will be a part of the district, along with Newton, Robinson, Paris, Marshall, Casey, Greenup and Lawrenceville.

In a conversation with Greg Sapp, Niemerg discussed why he is seeking re-election, what he has learned about how Springfield works, or doesn't, and what legislative initiatives he will pursue in the coming spring legislative session. Here's their conversation...

Niemerg and wife Trina have two young children. They are members of St. Isidore Catholic Parish and attend St. Aloysius Church. Niemerg graduated from Teutopolis High School in 2002 and received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Here's a look at the new 102nd House District where Niemerg is seeking re-election in 2022 (District territory is tan colored)
