Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection Up from Last Year

Effingham's Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection was highly successful.

Shoebox Coordinator Sandy Wilson said that 11,251 shoeboxes were shipped from Effingham's Cornerstone Christian Church to a processing site in Aurora, Illinois. From Aurora, the shoeboxes will be shipped to boys and girls all over the world. 

Wilson said 736 filled cartons on three semi trailers. The number of shoeboxes collected is an increase of 1,310 from the 2020 collection, and was back in line with the average collection for the three previous years.
