Teutopolis school board members this week discussed progress on establishing an after-school program for children in Grades K-6.

The Board heard that the program is still being developed with a parental survey and staff hires expected in coming months.

The after-school program would complement the district's before-school program.

The Board was also updated on an intergovernmental agreement for nursing services. The District plans to pursue a second nurse as part of a three-district intergovernmental agreement to secure nursing services for four to five days a week.

Also this week, the Board appointed Luke Ungrund as a volunteer high school boys basketball coach, and accepted the resignations of Tim and Susan Mills as high school volleyball coaches, and Dustin McDonald as a high school Math teacher effective January 15.

Teutopolis board members also approved the purchase of a scissor lift, approved a tentative fiscal year tax levy with level rates compared to last year, set a Truth in Taxation heaering for the December meeting, purchased two used 2017 buses and agreed to release as surplus property the two oldest high mileage buses in the District fleet, approved a Request for Proposals for the purchase of a used or new utility loader tractor and agreed to send out a Request for Proposal for the purchase of a zero turn mower, and approved the purchase of a used van through Teutopolis Auto Sales for use as a Driver's Ed vehicle and declared two other vehicles as surplus property.
