Farina Man Found Guilty of Criminal Sexual Assault

A Fayette County jury has found Farina resident Robert Branham guilty of five counts of criminal sexual assault. 

The 41-year-old Branham was convicted of sexual acts against a victim under the age of 18 in 2020. The jury needed an hour and 20 minutes Tuesday to reach its verdict. 

Branham is to be sentenced on January 3. Criminal sexual assault is a Class 1 Felony, punishable by up to four to 15 years in prison. 

Branham's bond was revoked after the jury returned the guilty verdicts. He will remain in Fayette County Jail in Vandalia until his sentencing.
