Teutopolis village board members have passed the tax levy ordinance for the fiscal year, as well as their tax assessment.

The board also voted to abate the levy concerning the bonds for the water line that was constructed from Teutopolis to Newton to provide an alternate water source. The bonds have earned enough in interest to make the bond payment without the levy.

Board members agreed to advertise for a part-time police officer. The officer would mostly work nights and weekends, and to fill in when other officers need time off.

The Board voted to grant David and Joyce Toombs another 12 months to complete work on their property, and began discussing regulations for an ordinance governing use of side-by-sides in the village. Their findings are being relayed to Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg, who will put together a tentative ordinance.

Board members tabled consideration of changes to the covenants in Prairie View Subdivision since one of the board members who has researched the matter wasn't present for the meeting.
