Effingham resident Daniel Hoyer Tuesday was sentenced to 30 months in prison for aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police officers.

The 35-year-old Hoyer was arrested in June of 2020. An Effingham County jury found Hoyer guilty in September of this year.

The aggravated fleeing count is a Class 4 Felony, punishable by between one and three years in prison, although probation was also an option.

Judge Christopher Matoush ordered that Hoyer will serve one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
