Mattoon Announces Plans for Sports Complex

Mattoon officials Thursday announced plans for a multi-million-dollar sports complex to be located on the southwest corner of the Interstate 57/Illinois Route 16 interchange.

The Lincoln Land of Sports Complex will involve almost 96 acres of development including a 126,000 square foot indoor fieldhouse and 86 acres of outdoor fields. 

The fieldhouse is to include eight indoor basketball courts, 16 indoor volleyball courts, a family entertainment center, and medical tenant lease space. The outdoor development will include baseball and softball fields and turf as well as grass fields.
