North Clay school board members have agreed to submit a school maintenance grant application, agreed to go out for bids for routing software for the transportation department, and tabled a motion to move forward with recommendations from the Curriculum Committee for Transitional Math at the high school.

The Board approved personal leave days for Lori Yates and Christina Sisk, approved a leave for Larry Northrop in October, agreed to post an opening for a golf coach and to give the administration the authority to hire to fill the opening, accepted the resignation of Gretchen Alwardt as high school volleyball assistant coach and agreed to post the vacancy.

North Clay students and teachers began a Social and Emotional curriculum series this month. The program is called "2nd Step" for Grades K-8 students and "School Connect" for Grades 9-12.

North Clay high school students also observed the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The high school band performed the National Anthem and North Clay teacher Matt Passalacqua, also a well-known entertainer, performed a set of patriotic music after the students saw images from September 11 and learned what it was like to be a student at North Clay 20 years ago.
