Three Injured in Early Morning Crash Friday

Details were released Tuesday by Effingham City Police on an early Friday morning crash that resulted in injuries to three people.

The crash happened just after 3am at the intersection of Pike and Raney in the City Business Park. Police report a vehicle driven by 40-year Joseph Harris of Buckatunna, Mississippi, struck a semi driven by 57-year-old Paul Yates of Beecher City.

Both drivers, as well as a passenger in the Harris vehicle, 44-year-old Bridget Leggette of Laurel, Mississippi, were all injured and were transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. 

Harris was cited for driving while his license is suspended, failure to yield, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
