Dieterich school board members accepted a proposal this week for architectural services from The Upchurch Group.

Dieterich's enrollment has been growing and the consensus is that additional facilities are needed.

Board members authorized Superintendent Cary Jackson to research and report back to the Board options for legal action against any entity impeding upon the local control of the Dieterich Board of Education. The Board also approved the budget for the new fiscal year, which showed in excess of $300,000 in revenues compared to expenditures.

The Board approved a senior class trip in Spring 2022 to Tennessee and approved a FFA Trip to the national convention in Indianapolis in October.

In personnel moves, the Dieterich board hired Emily Hall as an after school program aide, Leia Meredith as a high school Scholar Bowl coach, Celeste Stombaugh as Drama Club sponsor, Candace Albin as a paraprofessional, and Jeff Faught as a student worker.

Resignations were accepted from Beth Homan as a custodian, and Jayne Oaks and Lindsae Oestrich as paraprofessionals. Also granted was a maternity leave beginning December 22 for Hayley Pals.

Jackson reported to the Board that the District has received a grant from Delta Dental for bottle filling stations; that the State Board of Education has restored the District to "fully recognized" upon implementing the mask mandate; that an ESSR III grant application is now available at the District is targeting classroom expansion with the funds; and that another round of school maintenance grants is coming available to assist the District with needed repairs and updates to the facilities.
