Altamont School Board Acts on Number of Personnel Items

The Altamont School Board acted on a host of personnel moves at this week's meeting.

The Board approved a short unpaid leave for teacher Leigh Ann Stuckemeyer, and then accepted Stuckemeyer's resignation as a high school English teacher and an extra-curricular sponsor and also accepted the resignation of Kasey Sanders as a sixth grade teacher.

The Board employed Katie Lurkins as a junior high girls basketball coach, Jenifer Aldrich as a yearbook sponsor, Larry Blevins as a seventh grade basketball coach, and Hope Bueker as a high school assistant girls basketball coach.

Board members approved Patricia Niehaus as a high school paraprofessional, and approved a leave for bus driver Samantha Goers. Mike Delaney's resignation was also approved.

The Board approved resignatons from paraprofessionals Laurie Graves and Berly DeSedas and from custodian Nina Fletcher, and approved three extra-curricular volunteers those being Hope Bueker and Caroline Harder as junior high basketball coaches and Chris Guse as a volunteer girls basketball coach.

The Altamont board discussed emergency paid sick leave and emergency family and medical leave benefits to employees. The Board plans to discuss a proposal with union representatives with a vote likely at the October meeting. There was also discussion of a bus purchasing plan with action anticipated at the October meeting. It was also agreed to seek worker's compensation insurance bids for calendar year 2022.
