Effingham resident Trinady Baker has been found guilty on a count of mob action. The charge stems from an incident in October 2020 in the 700 block of Clinton Avenue. City police discovered at the scene that three subjects believed involved had already left the scene.

Witnesses told police that the three had battered a victim and then caused damage to the victim's vehicle. The three were later apprehended.

Baker was placed on two years probation, including 62 days already served in jail. 30 hours of public service work is a part of the sentence, as well as probation and restitution.

Another defendant, Jesse Tucker of Effingham, was earlier sentenced to two years in prison. The case of a third defendant is still pending.
