Teutopolis School Board Votes to Maintain Mask Recommendation, Not Requirement

Teutopolis school board members Monday voted to maintain its current Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan as was approved at the Board's July meeting.

The vote was 5-0 for the plan, which allows for local Board modifications per the needs of the school district and community, including a current mask recommendation following CDC guidance, not a mask requirement.

The Board approved The July 2021 Financial Report.  Approved a tentative budget for 2021-22 and has it available for review until Sept 30, 2021.  A budget hearing was also established for Monday, Sept 20, 2021 at 6:00 pm. The Board approved a resolution to continue with the hazardous bus routes that currently exist and accepted a bid of $24,056 from Stevens Industries for 11 four-foot wide trophy display cases in the THS connecting corridor.

In personnel moves the board hired: Doug Westendorf as District Maintenance Employee, Jessica Borries as Volunteer THS Assistant Tennis, Liz King as Volunteer THS Assistant Tennis, Jamie Harvel as Volunteer THS Volleyball, Andy Mersman as THS JV Girls Tennis Coach, Jordan Thoele as THS F/S Spring Baseball Coach, Jordan Thoele as THS Fall Baseball Assistant Coach, Jim Hakman as Volunteer THS Boys Tennis Assistant Coach, and Lee Hardiek as Volunteer TJHS Baseball.

The Board approved resignations from: Sheila Braun as TJHS Paraprofessional, Jenna Funneman as THS Track Assistant Coach, Jordan Thoele as Volunteer THS Spring Baseball, Jim Hakman as THS Boys Tennis Assistant Coach, Jordan Thoele as Volunteer TJHS Baseball, Brooks Swinderman as TJHS Drama Co-Sponsor, Jordan Pals as THS F/S Spring Baseball Coach, and Liz King as THS Girls Tennis Coach
