A storm packing wind, rain and hail in places hit the Effingham area Thursday afternoon, leaving downed power lines in Teutopolis and canceling the track and tractor pull action on opening night of the 40th Annual Millroad Thresherman Association celebration at the county fairgrounds at Altamont. Bingo in TTown was canceled, as was the FACE Orchestra concert on the lawn of the Courthouse Museum.

It was a wide storm east to west with weather warnings in effect at one point from near Stewardson to Robinson. We recorded three tenths of an inch of rain from the storm.
