The search continues for a missing Newton woman.

Newton Police Chief Mike Swick Thursday said they are getting contacts from the public on a periodic basis regarding the disappearance of 38-year-old Bethany Ruby Bower. Bower's belongings, including her dog, were found on Monday, July 26 outside her residence, but Bower has not been officially seen since Saturday, July 24, leaving that residence with the belongings.

Swick said Bower's case is still being treated as that of a missing person. He said, "There's no reason to believe it's not." Swick said they are checking out every report, working with Illinois State Police.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Bethany Ruby Bower is asked to phone the Newton Police Department at 618-783-8478.
