Effingham "Quiet Zone" Effective Today

The Effingham "Quiet Zone" is effective today.

All routine train horns have stopped sounding on the Canadian National Railroad from Rickelman to Jefferson Avenues.

All other railroad crossings within the city will not be affected; train horns will still be sounded at those crossings.

City officials ask for patience with trains in the quiet zone area as it may take a few days to fully comply with the change.
