2021 HAM-JAM Results Are In

The hot weather didn't slow things down during the 2021 EffingHAM-JAM in downtown Effingham, and the event generated a little heat of its own.

The Hometown Throwdown Friday evening and the Kansas City Barbecue Society competition Saturday brought good crowds to downtown. Here are the winners in the two competitions:

FRIDAY:

HOMETOWN THROWDOWN GRAND CHAMPION--John Boos and Company

HOMETOWN THROWDOWN AMATEUR TOP HOG--Jack Ass BBQ/Wade Slover

HOMETOWN THROWDOWN CORPORATE TOP HOG--Weis Insurance Agency

SATURDAY:

KCBS GRAND CHAMPION--Janky Leg BBQ from Benton

KCBS RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION--The BBQ Bus from Elmhurst

KCBS CHICKEN--Janky Leg BBQ from Benton (with a perfect score of 180!)

KCBS PORK RIBS--Rusty Pig from Decatur

KCBS PULLED PORK--Risky Brisket from Oswego

KCBS BRISKET--Que U from Gurnee

More than two dozen teams from across the nation traveled to Effingham for the KCBS competition, featuring cash prizes, John Boos and Company trophies, and of course bragging rights. The event was presented by Koerner Distributor, Inc.
