Effingham resident Adam Tieffel has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to methamphetamine delivery.

The 24-year-old Tieffel was initially charged with a Class 1 felony count of delivering five to 15 grams of meth. He pleaded guilty to delivery of less than five grams, which reduced the charge to a Class 2 Felony, punishable by three to seven years in prison.

In addition to the prison time, Tieffel will serve one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Tieffel was given credit for 171 days served in jail while awaiting disposition of his case.

Tieffel had been arrested in January.
