Teutopolis village board members again discussed at this week's meeting whether to allow the use of side-by-sides within the village limits.

No decision was reached. Village officials, though, plan to work on verbiage that could allow side-by-side usage, with a vote on the matter at the Board's August 18 meeting.

Some residents of Prairie View Estates were also on hand regarding the covenants of their subdivision. An issue has been raised concerning paving road surfaces in Prairie View. Village officials decided to ask an architectural committee to meet with the residents and the Board at 6pm on August 4, just ahead of the next village board meeting at 7:00 that evening to address the issue. There could be a vote regarding the issue at that regular meeting on August 4.

Village Foreman Carl Pals told Board members that a business on the west end of the village would like to expand and utilize an abandoned sewer line as part of the expansion project. Pals will check with the village engineers on the feasibility of using the line.

Pals also reported that village workers are checking on the cost of replacing eight fire hydrants in the village, and will report back with their findings.

Board members also passed the village appropriations ordinance for the coming fiscal year.
