The 2021 Effingham County Relay for Life got off to a blue sky start Friday evening, even with the threat of a rainy weekend in the offing.

Relay for Life made a return after being shut down by COVID-19 last year, with the exception of a drive-thru luminaria event.

The 5-10 pm time period Friday was the start of building Relay back to what's been in past years, while keeping things like social distancing in mind.
