The 150th Jasper County Fair is in the history books. The week began with records being broken during Sunday’s harness racing, and racing continued on Monday.

Sunday’s highlights included the harness racing, dedication of the Larry Casey Jr. Livestock Building, talent contest and a concert from Chasing DaVinci. Virgil Jansen and Brinley Beam won the talent contest Sr. and Jr. Divisions. On Monday night, Alivia Huddlestun was crowned 2021 Jasper County Fair Queen, and the fair's first Jr. Miss, Zoey Michl, was crowned to represent the Jasper County Fair throughout the year.

The week continued with a full afternoon and evening of tractor pulls and truck pulls the following nights with good crowds in attendance for each event. The Flat Drags were a big hit this year with grandstand attendance increasing nightly. The grandstands were sold out for the Whippoorwill Rodeo and Demo Derby Friday and Saturday while the carnival was kept busy Tuesday thru Saturday ending with a bang as fireworks were set off at the conclusion of the fair.

The mornings and afternoons were filled with open livestock shows, 4-H and Jr. Livestock shows, most held in the new Larry Casey Jr . Livestock building with crowds of family and friends filling the grandstands in the new building and the livestock shows concluded with the Dairy Show Saturday morning.

All the events were made possible by the 30+ businesses who partnered with the fair to hold the 150th Jasper County Fair, and the multiple volunteers who were at the fair day and night to make sure everything was running smoothly. Local organizations stepped up to help at the front gate and keep traffic moving as much as possible and handle ticket sales at the grandstand. Volunteers are the key to a successful fair and everyone’s efforts are appreciated in making the fair a success.
