Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash on the interstate on the north side of Effingham.

The crash happened at 3:35pm a mile east of the Keller Drive interchange.

Illinois State Police report a SUV driven by 57-year-old Lisa Lindsey of Effingham was traveling eastbound in the far right-hand lane. Lindsey began to move into the middle lane when she noticed there was already another vehicle in the lane. Police say Lindsey overcorrected back into the right lane and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV traveled across all three lanes of traffic, striking a concrete median barrier, coming to rest on the inside shoulder.

Lindsey and her passengers, 35-year-old Sarah Bolyard of Ashmore and a nine-year-old girl from Ashmore, were all taken for treatment of what were termed non life threatening injuries.

Lindsey was cited for improper lane usage.
