Altamont City Council members this week approved a special-use permit for Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. The hospital plans to develop a physical therapy clinic downtown at 15 North Main Street, just south of S&W Supermarket.

The Council awarded a street oiling bid to Larry Heuerman for just over $42,000, and approved two permits; one for The Gathering Church to conduct a Backyard Bash Youth Event at Heritage Park July 5-9 and one for a Vacation Bible School in Heritage Park July 11-13.

Council members approved an agreement for the LIHEAP Program for the next three years; transferred funds to help pay for lighting on a ball diamond in Gilbert Park; and approved an early retirement incentive for up to four employees.
