Local Congresswoman Mary Miller visited the Texas/Mexico border this week.

Miller was visiting along with former President Donald Trump and members of the Republican Study Committee. She said Wednesday, "I arrived late last night and went straight to the border to see the situation firsthand."

Miller said that the illegal immigrants their group encountered were women, children, and teenage boys. There were no grown men. Members of the group told Miller that they had been traveling for two months. She said the children told her they were alone and met each other along the way.

Miller said, "I'm a mom of seven children and grandmother of 17. What horrors did these children face at the hands of cartels or traffickers along the way? This story is repeated over and over every day."

Miller spoke on behalf of the Trump Administration pursuit of constructing a border wall, saying, "President Trump's policies were working and on Day One, the Biden Administration starting dismantling them."
