Water Line Break Closes Kluthe Pool

Kluthe Memorial Pool at Evergreen Hollow Park in Effingham is closed due to a water line break.

Effingham Park District Director Jeff Althoff said the line broke Wednesday when they were doing backwashing. When the line broke, beyond the shutoff valve, the water flooded an area where the pumps were located.

Once the water was shut off, the pumps were taken out and taken to a repair firm where they are being dried out and then will be regreased. Althoff said the best case scenario is that the pool would be open again on Friday.
