Bill Fritcher has announced plans to retire as superintendent of Neoga schools following the coming school year.

Fritcher left the Teutopolis district to take the Neoga job for the 2019-2020 school year. He is a Neoga resident. He is an Altamont native, and worked in the Effingham Unit 40 school district ahead of his move to Teutopolis.

The Neoga board also accepted the resignation of Abby Stevens, and hired Mary Hill as junior high and assistant high school volleyball coach, and hired Brittany Mette as high school cheer sponsor. Board members also approved pay for non-teaching personnel for the coming school year.

The Board purchased a sound system for the junior/senior high school gyms for $48,000. Federal CARES funds will cover $35,000 of the cost and the Booster Club will cover $10,000 of the cost, with the District covering the remaining $3,000.

Neoga board members also approved a re-opening plan for the coming school year. Teachers will report on August 16 with August 17 as the first date for students to report.
