City Police Handle Two Crashes Involving Injuries

Effingham city police have released information on two crashes that occurred earlier this month involving injuries.

One crash occurred on June 11 at 3:38pm at Henrietta and Fayette. Police report vehicles driven by 62-year-old Lisa Reardon of Greenup and 66-year-old Arletha Parker of Dieterich collided in the intersection.

Reardon was injured and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.

The other crash occurred on June 16 at 7:45pm at Keller Drive and Avenue of Mid-America. Police report a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Stephanie Calhoun of St. Elmo struck a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Reba Downen of Fairfield.

Calhoun was injured, but refused treatment.

Downen was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, while Calhoun was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
