Unemployment Rates Down for April Throughout Illinois

The number of nonfarm jobs increased throughout Illinois during April.

The Illinois Department of Employment had Effingham County's jobless rate for April at 4%, down from 14.8% one year earlier.

In other area counties, here are the April jobless rates:

Coles--5.2%, down from 13% one year earlier

Cumberland--4.1%, down from 10.8%

Shelby--4.2%, down from 11.7% one year earlier

Clay--5.7%, down from 22.6%

Fayette--5.2%, down from 14.3%

Jasper--4.3%, down from 11.4%

The unemployment rate also decreased in April in all 102 Illinois counties.
