Four Injured in I-57 Accident Near Farina

State Police report four persons received non-life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in the southbound lanes of I-57 south of the Farina exit in Marion County.

At 7:28 Saturday morning an SUV driven by 40-year-old Lakeisha Whitaker of Maywood swerved to avoid a large piece of tire debris in the roadway. She struck the left ditch and came to rest in the center median.

Whitaker and her passengers, three female juveniles 14, 8, and a three-months-old, were all transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
