South Central school board members have approved a letter of intent to retire from Principal Greg Grinestaff. The retirement will be effective at the close of the 2024-2025 school year. Grinestaff has served as middle school principal for more than 16 years.

The South Central board heard from Superintendent Kerry Herdes on ways to utilize Federal CARES Act funds. Herdes suggested having COVID-connected improvements made that would also give the district some overdue maintenance and perhaps even building improvements. He said the work would include extensive additions and work at South Central Middle School.

In personnel moves, the South Central board approved resignation letters from Kanady Grzegorek and Shelby McCarty as high school cheerleading sponsors, granted a leave of absence to Melinda Manger, hired Trevor Markley as middle school boys basketball coach, and hired Emily Brice as a high school Math teacher and Jacob Guy as a middle school English teacher.
