Action on Fayette County Waste Transfer Station Tabled Til Board's May Meeting

Fayette County Board members have tabled action on a solid waste transfer station until their May meeting.

Chris Sutter of Countryside Disposal is proposing the transfer station, that is to be located off Illinois Route 185 south of Brownstown. Sutter said the solid waste would be collected at the site and then taken to a landfill for permanent disposal. 

The site has to be meet nine siting criteria and be approved by the County Board before the operation can be finalized and the transfer station put into use.
