Van, SUV Collide On Interstate at Effingham

A van and a SUV collided just after 2pm Wednesday on the Keller Drive interstate exit ramp. 

State police report the SUV, driven by 63-year-old Kimberlee Wuertz of Leslie, Missouri, slowed at a traffic light to turn onto Keller Drive, but a van driven by 66-year-old Vicki Simpson of Boerne, Texas, failed to slow down and rear-ended the SUV.

A passenger in the SUV, 85-year-old Richard Wuertz of Longmont, Colorado, was taken to the hospital for treatment of what were termed minor injuries.

Simpson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
