Four Positive COVID Cases in County Tuesday and Wednesday

The Effingham County Health Department reported four new positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
There were two new cases on Tuesday...a male in his 50s and a female in her 70s...and two new cases on Wednesday...a male in his 40s and a male in his 70s. There were no fatal COVID-19 related cases.
Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 2.3% through February 28, while Effingham County was 1.9% for the same period.

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 2,104 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in the state, including 44 additional COVID-related deaths.
Those deaths included a male in his 70s in Coles County and a male in his 70s in Marion County.
As of Tuesday night, 1,260 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 275 patients were in the ICU and 138 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
