Effingham Fire Department was called to Central Grade School at 1:53 Wednesday afternoon when a heat alarm was triggered.

When firefighters arrived on scene they were informed that some gas lines had been switched out. When the appliances were lit the area was not able to be ventilated causing the build up of heat which set off the alarm.

There were no injuries reported and firefighters were clear of the scene and back in quarters by 2:20pm.
