Details in on Crash on City's South Side

Effingham City Police have released details on a crash on the city's south side that occurred just after 3:30pm Tuesday.

The crash happened at 2308 Hoffman Drive. Police report a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Alex Baughman of Effingham slid on the snow-covered roadway and struck a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Janice Lewis of Toledo.

Lewis and a juvenile passenger in Lewis' vehicle both sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Baughman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
