The North Clay Board of Education Wednesday approved high school graduation for Sunday, May 16 at 2pm. 8th grade graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30pm.

The Board approved an extension of a Memorandum of Understanding with the North Clay Education Association related to COVID's impact on the school year; voted to re-hire administrators for next school year and set salaries for Kim Briggs and Chad Traub; and voted to pay coaches at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year two times per season. Half of the stipend will be paid at the halfway point of their seasons, and the remainder at the conclusion of their seasons.

The Board authorized Superintendent Travis Wyatt to enter into an agreement for gas and diesel at margin rate and to accept a propane bid from South Central FS, and to seek bids on mowing.

There was also a report on the Elementary and Junior High School After-School Program. The program is held Tuesdays and Thursdays to help students that are struggling academically. Students receive an after-school snack provided by the district's cafeteria vendor.

Board members also heard that most junior high athletic contests have been held at the high school to allow for social distancing, and heard that when North Clay played its first high school basketball game of the COVID-impacted season at Neoga that Neoga fans began applauding the North Clay starting lineup as it was being introduced.
