65-year-old Ricky Allen Matlock was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff's Department just before 11pm Saturday after sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at Matlock's residence at 410 North Oak in Edgewood. Sheriff's deputies were assisted in serving the search warrant by Illinois State Police troopers and officers with the Effingham City Police Department. Authorities say numerous items of drug paraphernalia, US currency, and more than 53 grams of meth were seized. The investigation has been conducted by the Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.

Matlock was taken into custody on counts of possession of methamphetamine, delivery or possession with intent to deliver meth, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
