A Mattoon man has been sentenced to four years in prison for firing a weapon into a home in 2019.

19-year-old Dylan Shull pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied building. Mattoon police say nine bullets were shot into a house occupied by several adults and an infant. No one was hit by the gunfire.

Shull pleaded guilty in exchange for a guarantee that his sentence would not exceed five years in prison. Shull will serve two years mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Two other defendants in the case were placed on probation for their parts in the incident.
