Number of Positive COVID-19 Cases in State Falls Below 3,000 Monday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday reported the number of new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois was below 3,000.

There was one COVID-related death in the area reported Monday, a male in his 70s in Coles County.

As of Sunday night, 2,962 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 601 patients were in the ICU, and 302 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

As far as COVID vaccine, more than 690,000 doses have been administered.
